“Youth and Women's Participation in Local Authorities”

The Palestinian Center for Peace and Democracy, in partnership with the Tanweeri Cultural Forum, organized a multi-party dialogue session on the extent of youth and women's participation in local bodies.
According to the results of the surveys carried out by the Palestinian Center, there is a significant weakness in the participation of youth and women in local bodies.
At the end of the meeting, recommendations were made, including The need to raise awareness among youth to participate in decision-making, to bridge the gap between citizens and local bodies, to strengthen the role of women, through effective coordination and cooperation between grassroots organizations, local bodies, activists and political and social actors, and to form a youth body to support the local body in the Nablus Municipality.
