'Pink October'
Recognizing the importance of breast cancer awareness and the vital role of early detection in reducing its spread and saving lives, and with the Women's Support Center having established itself as a leading institution in the field of psychological and legal support, the Center organized an awareness event in Nablus regarding 'Pink October.' The initiative targeted women from Gaza who are currently stranded in the region, including those battling cancer or accompanying patients on their treatment journey. The event took place at their residence in Asira al-Shamaliya, affiliated with An-Najah National Hospital, where the Women's Support team sought to promote health awareness through educational activities highlighting the significance of early screening as a preventive measure.
The event included group counseling sessions to provide psychological support to the participants, which helped alleviate their mental and physical burdens. The initiative also featured recreational and therapeutic activities to foster a sense of hope and positivity, which was well-received by the attendees. They emphasized the urgent need for ongoing psychological support to cope with the challenges posed by the illness and its treatment.
The participants unanimously stressed the importance of continuing such initiatives, which not only bolster resilience and recovery but also underscore the necessity of psychological support alongside medical care in the fight against breast cancer.
