"Awareness Meeting"

2024-05-10

With the participation of more than twenty cooperatives in the northern regions of Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nablus, the Youth Partnership Forum organized an awareness-raising meeting for members of the cooperative network at the Enlightenment Forum headquarters attended by 50 participants from cooperatives.
Rami Massad from the forum initially welcomed everyone and emphasized that cooperatives today have become an inspiration for many young people because they come in the context of the importance of instilling values, especially social justice and humanity, and avoiding profit accumulation as the goal of building cooperatives. He pointed out that these training sessions are in line with the vision and strategy of the forum in providing all necessary resources to develop the capacities of cooperative members.
In his session, the trainer Fawzan Awad presented an introduction to the concept of cooperatives, referring to the historical evolution of cooperatives, emphasizing that the cooperative work culture aims to create an alternative economy and develop Palestinian society, stressing its contribution to reducing unemployment. He also highlighted the importance of protecting cooperatives through systems capable of ensuring their continued progress, protection, and expansion, where the idea of the network has become important for several reasons, including exchanging experiences, benefiting from each other, and unifying voices. He also emphasized the importance of the financial system that ensures fair distribution and guarantees cooperative development, stating that this training is part of a continuous series of training sessions such as financial management, successful management, and safe agriculture.
