The Youth Cooperatives Network organized a meeting at the Palestinian Cultural Enlightenment Forum

2024-04-30

Everyone emphasized the noticeable progress in the cooperatives' work and the increasing level of accomplishments and accumulated experiences, reflecting on their significance in the community, which now sees these cooperatives as an important source in building the alternative economy and resilience through promoting a culture of returning to the land and enhancing social solidarity, especially in light of the ongoing closures, barriers, economic downturn, and increasing unemployment, given that cooperative members are from youth demographics, both male and female. The participants affirmed the drafting of a 2024 plan by gathering ideas from the cooperatives, benefiting from previous years' experiences, especially in home gardens, and stressing the importance of networking to build connections with cooperatives in other provinces, as well as coordinating with global models to benefit from success stories and keeping pace with cooperative development through training in agricultural, administrative, and financial issues to empower cooperative members. It is worth mentioning that three new cooperatives have joined the cooperative network.
